Weekend Visitors!

We were fortunate enough this weekend to have visits from Papy and GeeGee (Alyssa and Reese's great grandparents and Bobby grandparents) and my sister Natalie and her boyfriend Bryan. It was fun for the girls to visit and we really appreciated them coming here to see us :)

I think Reese and Alyssa resemble each other but it will be interesting to see who the new baby will look like more. Alyssa is still very much a mini Bobby look alike.
I have always been jealous that Bobby gets to leave the house and work a 40 hour work week and solely focus on his work with no distractions of the kids or housework. Working from home is great and I LOVE the flexibility--I wouldn't have it any other way or ever do anything else. BUT I fit my 40 hour work week around nap, meal times, and play dates. I often tell Bobby it is like me sending the kids with him in his squad car and see how productive he can be. So, I decided since Alyssa is getting more and more active and needed something to do that preschool full day twice a week would be good for everyone :) Those same two days (Mon and Wed) my neighbor and friend from church is watching Reese. She already has two kids at home so she won't be able to watch the new baby but it gives me time to find someone before she arrives. It was so nice today to be able to answer the phone and make calls without screaming in the background. I got more done in less time and Alyssa loved her teacher and her new friends. She brought her new Dora backpack and told me about for day for the entire 4 hours leading up to bedtime.

Alyssa's hair was getting unruly so I decided it was time to get a hair cut so it wasn't so scraggly. It looks cute and still curls but she no longer has the mullet look of the 80's. I promised her a Popsicle if she sat still for the 5 minutes it took my friend to cut it! This is McKenzie our next door neighbor who Alyssa begs to play with all day but whenever they get together they fight like sisters!

The highlight of Alyssa's weekend was the gift she received from my Aunt Joann and cousin Jenny. She is listening to her new Dora headphones that came in a Dora backpack filled with other school supplies. She enjoyed dancing the night away at the reception and as you can see in the last picture was always close to the food. She helped herself to the chocolate fountain all night long and had several wardrobe changes through the evening.

Jessica & Jack's wedding

My sister Jessica and Jack were sealed in the Nauvoo Illinois Temple on 8/8/08. Everything went smoothly and was beautiful. The kids didn't have much patience during pictures though. This is what they did on the temple grounds. The last picture is me bribing Alyssa to be in a family picture :)
